Poem: Childcare Dilemma

What is a working parent to do?

Childcare costs are high.

Wages are low.

Child support’s minimal.

Unavailable government assistance.

The babies must eat.

They must have a place to sleep.

And the parent’s struggles grow.

Without relatives’ help,

the parent is helpless.

They keep hoping

and praying for a better day.

One day,

the babies

will go to school,

and the childcare dilemma

will go away.
