You’ve decided that you want to write a book. So, you do an internet search. You come across different websites cautioning you against self-editing and making the book cover yourself. Now, you’ve become discouraged because you don’t have the funds for professional editing and a professional book cover. However, you feel you have a book inside you. So, what do you do? Do you give up the desire to write that book that’s burning inside of you? Or, do you do further research into how to do it yourself?
The Lure of Self-Publishing
Let’s face it, many who go into the self-publishing option don’t have the mega funds to pay someone to produce their book. If they did, there wouldn’t be so many websites out there instructing you on how to do it.
The internet offers those with sparse funds the opportunity to dabble in things that interest them. Don’t let the websites that caution you against doing your own book cover or book editing discourage you.
If you have the desire to put sweat equity into producing your book, go for it. No one is born experienced in anything. Most babies crawl before they walk.
Get a Dose of Confidence
Erase any self-doubt you may have and work toward fulfilling your dream of becoming a published author. Others have been in your situation and followed their desires into success.
Wouldn’t you like to be able to say this is what I desired to do and I accomplished it? You’ll never know your capabilities unless you put forth the action.
Now, it’s your turn to turn your idea into an ebook and/or a print book. Don’t despair. A community of well-wishers is available to help you along the way. Some charge a fee while others don’t. Happy writing!
